Arapahoe County residents have until Oct. 3 to register to vote in the upcoming Nov. 1, 2011 Coordinated Election, and to make it convenient voters can register online.

Visit www.arapahoevotes.com to register to vote, change party affiliation or update an address.

"Arapahoevotes.com is a great, easy-to-use online resource for our citizens," said Clerk and Recorder Nancy A. Doty. "In addition to registering to vote, voters also can request a mail-in ballot, find links to candidate information and track your mail-in ballot. We also offer information about where to find Early Vote, Vote Center and mail ballot drop off locations, as well as accessing election results after polls close on Election night."

Beginning Oct. 11, Arapahoe County will mail ballots to all active registered voters who have requested a mail ballot.

"If you are currently registered and have signed up to receive a mail ballot you will receive a ballot in the mail," Doty said. "If you would like to receive a ballot by mail for the upcoming election, you have until Oct. 25 to request one by mail and until Oct. 28 to pick up one in person."

Along with the ballot, voters will receive instructions on the proper pen to use, as well as options for returning their ballot to the County. Doty said voters should use a black or blue ballpoint pen when filling out their ballot.

Voters can mail their ballot to the County by placing 64 cents in postage on the envelope, or they can return their ballot at any one of 16 convenient drop-off locations by 7 p.m. Election Day. Voters also can return their ballot to any one of the 17 Vote Centers by 7 p.m. Election Day. Visit www.arapahoevotes.com to find a mail ballot drop off or Vote Center location nearest you.

In addition to voting by mail, voters can Early Vote (Oct. 17 - 28) or cast a ballot at any one of our new 17 convenient Vote Centers on Election Day.

Vote Centers will replace traditional precinct polling places and with 17 Vote Centers throughout Arapahoe County there is no wrong place to vote. Arapahoe County voters can choose to cast their ballot at the location most convenient to them.

To learn more about Vote Centers or for more information about the Nov. 1 Coordinated Election, contact the Elections Division at 303-795-4511 or visit www.arapahoevotes.com.
