Top art students win recognition

Students from some South Metro area schools won awards for their art work exhibited in the 2010 National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards show, which ran through Jan. 30 at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, 1600 Pierce St., Lakewood. An awards reception was held on Jan. 23, honoring Gold and Silver Key winners, Honorable Mention winners and a select few Portfolio Winners. Judges were arts professionals and educators from the metro area.

The Gold Key winners were sent on to New York to compete with young artists from across the nation. A selected number will then be exhibited in Washington, DC.
