Three-car crash snarls afternoon traffic

A three-car accident on Santa Fe Drive on March 30 slowed afternoon rush hour traffic.

According to Lt. Cooper of the Littleton Police Department, a southbound vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes about a quarter mile north of Aspen Grove around 4:45 p.m., sideswiping a pickup. A third vehicle then hit the pickup.

Police said the driver of the vehicle, a woman whose name was not released, had a medical issue that caused her to swerve into the northbound lane. She was transported to Littleton Adventist Hospital, where her condition was not known, Cooper said. He added that there were no indications that she had been using drugs or alcohol.

Northbound Santa Fe Drive was closed from Mineral Avenue to Church Street through rush hour. Traffic was rerouted onto Mineral Avenue.
