South Suburban seeks nominees for director positions

Posted

The South Suburban Park and Recreation District board of directors has called for a regular district election to fill two director positions. The May 5 election will be a polling place election.

A state-mandated switch to odd-year elections in 2023 means that each elected board position will serve a three-year term.

Current board members are Scott LaBrash, Jim Taylor, Susan Pye, Pete Barrett and Dave Lawful. LaBrash cannot run due to term limits. Taylor has completed his first term.

Self-nomination and acceptance forms are available from the designated election official Jennifer King at 6631 S. University Blvd., Centennial, CO  80121. Self-nomination and acceptance forms must be filed with the designated election official by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28.

Applications for absentee ballots must be filed with King by 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 28. Applications may be returned by U.S. mail to King at the address above; via email at Elections@ssprd.org; or via fax 720-798-3030.

All questions regarding the election, including how to run for office or how to obtain an absentee ballot, can be directed to King at Elections@ssprd.org, or 303-483-7011. Stay up-to-date about the election at ssprd.org/board-election.
