Going into regionals at Chatfield High School, Littleton boys tennis came out of the Continental League strong in the final week of the regular season.

The Lions closed the schedule with a 6-1 win over Chaparral at home, a 5-2 win over ThunderRidge in Highlands Ranch and a 5-2 besting of Castle View in Castle Rock.

At No. 1 singles, Ian Craighead put up a two-set win over Chaparral’s Dylan Gelbach and Castle View’s Mark Kroll. However, ThunderRidge’s Gagan Jain defeated the Lion in two sets with a 7-2 tiebreaker in the second set.

No. 2 singles was won by Thomas Carson after a battle with A.J. Wilkerson in the ThunderRidge matches. Wilkerson won the first set with a 7-4 tiebreaker, but Carson split sets and won the next two 6-4, 6-0 to win the match. Carson went on to beat Keegan DePriest at Castle View in two sets.

The Lions’ Ben Cohen put up a two-set win over both Chaparral’s Tyler Crichton and ThunderRidge’s Graham Dominick. He fell to Daniel Wood of Castle View in two.

Although his partners had changed that last week, Ben Williamson helped the Lions No. 1 doubles slot win all three matches including splits sets at Chaparral, two sets at ThunderRidge and two at Castle View.
