An attempted bank robbery ended when the suspect fled the building while a clerk was trying to retrieve her manager, police said.

At 12:38 p.m. March 1, Littleton police officers responded to an attempted robbery at the Chase Bank, 5734 S. Prince St., in downtown Littleton. The suspect was described from several witnesses as being a white male, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, in his late 30s to 40s, with a thin to medium build. He reportedly was carrying a black back pack.

The bank clerk said the suspect, who did not show a weapon, approached her and stated, “Give me all your money.”

The teller then sought the assistance of a manager, according to a police department news release. Instead of waiting for further assistance, the suspect left the bank onto South Prince Street.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Littleton Police Detective Steve Zoratti at 303-795-3890.
