Littleton Public Schools is pleased to announce that Jim Woods will be joining the LPS team as interim Chief of Operational Services effective Oct. 1. Woods will help facilitate and coordinate operations functions across the district such as transportation, security, and facility management on a part-time basis.

Woods is retiring from his position as city manager for the City of Littleton this month, a position he has held for 12 years. He has a distinguished career as a city manager and planner that spans nearly 40 years. As city manager, he reports to a seven-member city council, is responsible for overall city operations involving 400 full-time and 80 part-time employees, directly supervises 12 department heads, and is responsible for an annual operating and capital budget of about $80 million.

“Jim has a great deal of experience and talent that will be very valuable to us,” said LPS Superintendent Scott Murphy. “We have worked closely with Jim for years in his role as city manager. He has always been very supportive of Littleton Public Schools. We are really looking forward to having him with us.”

“The City of Littleton and Littleton Public Schools have one of the strongest public partnerships in the State of Colorado,” said Woods. “I am looking forward to joining the team at LPS, and I hope to make a positive contribution to the district’s continued success.”
