Sheriff Grayson Robinson appointed David C. Walcher as
undersheriff of the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office on April
29.
Walcher joined the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office in December
2009, after a diverse and very successful 22-year career with the
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Walcher, a longtime resident of Arapahoe County, earned his
bachelor of science degree in accounting from Metro State College,
a master’s degree in criminal justice from the Executive Leadership
Program of the University of Colorado Denver School of Public
Affairs, and is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of
Police Staff and Command.
“I am very pleased that David Walcher has accepted my
appointment as undersheriff,” Robinson said. “Dave has a great deal
of experience, professional competency, vision, integrity and
energy and will continue to make a difference at the Arapahoe
County Sheriff’s Office and the communities we serve.”
As undersheriff, Walcher will be responsible for the day-to-day
administrative management operations of the Arapahoe County
Sheriff’s Office, including patrol, investigations, budget and
logistics and the Detention Facility. Previously Walcher served as
Bureau Chief of the Arapahoe County Detentions Facility.
