New complex provides residents with sense of community

Posted

Recently, Littleton residents were having a discussion about whether or not building more housing in the downtown area would stimulate economic health.

Last week, they got one step closer to knowing the answer as the Alexan Downtown Littleton apartment complex opened its doors on the south side of West Belleview Avenue, west of Rio Grande.

“Alexan Downtown Littleton is not your cookie-cutter community,” says the Web site.

“It is an apartment community where modern luxuries are surrounded by outstanding mountain views, a place to rejuvenate while sipping coffee, enjoying a morning workout and relaxing by the resort-style pool. Alexan Downtown Littleton is your home, an every day escape from the daily grind with state-of-the-art facilities.”

The 350 multi-family residential units have been under construction for more than a year, and many are still being built. So far, 30 units have been leased.

The entire complex is slated for completion by the end of the year, with the second building coming online in August, according to Property Manager Stacey Winick.

Establishing the relationship between retail and resident, model homes are equipped and decorated with products or services from downtown Littleton merchants.

“It’s really important to us to have a downtown Littleton presence here at the property,” Winick said.

“We want the people who visit to get a feeling of the community.”

Alexan’s new site is the second to open in the South Metro area, with Alexan City Center in Englewood just minutes north on the light rail.

Littleton’s Light Rail Station is only 0.9 miles from the Alexan Downtown Littleton.

While similar in name, Alexan City Center is no longer owned by Trammell Crow — the owner of Littleton’s new property, and it’s managed by a different company.

Homes vary from one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans ranging from 667 square feet to 1, 293 square feet.

Other amenities include kitchen islands, granite countertops and fireplaces.

Also under construction near Historic Downtown Littleton is the Nevada Place Condominium Residents.

Nevada Place, located at the intersection of Nevada Street and West Powers Avenue, will feature 68 condominium residences with one- and two-bedroom floor plans.
