MLK breakfast draws near

The City of Littleton and Arapahoe Community College will host the 13th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Breakfast on Jan. 17 in the ACC Dining Hall.

The event, which will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., will include breakfast, remarks by community leaders, entertainment, an award presentation and recognition of two ACC scholarship recipients.

Community leaders, neighbors, guests and ACC staff, faculty and students will honor the life and achievements of Martin Luther King Jr.

New this year is the student poetry contest. Students at Littleton Public Schools and ACC are invited to submit a poem to the contest, “I Have a Dream Too,” promoting the ideals of Martin Luther King Jr. Poetry contest winners will be invited to read their poem at the Holiday Breakfast. The deadline to submit a poem is Dec. 30.

Admission to the celebration is $15 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets may be purchased at www.accfoundationevents.com or by calling 303.797.5881. Space is limited so be sure to get your tickets in advance.
