Nov. 25

Tate Music Group Artist Karyn Jarrell Performance will be from 7-9 p.m. Nov. 25 at Solid Grounds, 6504 S. Broadway, Littleton. Jarrell will be performing songs from her album, Newsprint.

Nov. 30

Science Café, which will feature author Michael W. Carroll, will be from 4:30-6 p.m. Nov. 30 in room M1950 at the Arapahoe Community College Littleton Campus. Carroll will speak about weather on other planets and moons. The Science Café, which is presented by the ACC Biology Department, is free and open to the community. Nov. 26

Expert crafter Pat Vick will present two identical workshops on creating a miniature holiday window scene from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-4 p.m. Nov. 26 at Bemis Public Library. These classes are open to adults and children age eight and older who are accompanied by an adult. Participants must bring $2.50 for materials. Wear an apron or “crafty clothes.”Since space is limited, call the library at 303-795-3961 to register for one of the workshops. Bemis Public Library is at 6014 S. Datura Street in Littleton.

Breakfast with Santa is Dec. 3 at Arapahoe Community Colleg. Breakfast begins at 8 a.m. in the Littleton Campus cafeteria. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time at the Student Affairs Office and cost $2. The event is limited to 200 guests, and children ages 2 or younger are admitted for free. ACC’s Littleton Campus is located at 5900 S. Santa Fe Drive. For information or accommodations, call 303-797-5668 or stop by the Student Affairs Office in Room M2820.

Dec. 3

Santa Claus will dine with members of the community Dec. 3 at Buck Recreation Center. Breakfast with Santa, an annual favorite, is sponsored by Littleton Rotary Club. Two seatings will be available: 8:30-9 a.m. and 9:30-10 a.m. Pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee will be served. Throughout the morning, Santa will pose for photos with children. Youngsters will also have an opportunity to make a holiday craft. Cost of the event is $5/$4 Resident; $2 for children under 10 years of age. Seating is limited, and registration is required. Family Caregiver Support Group at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Littleton will meet from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Dec. 3 at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Chuch, 6673 West Chatfield Ave., Littleton.

Smithtonians Handbell Ensemble Holiday Concert is at 2 p.m. Dec. 3 at Bemis Public Library, 6014 S. Datura St., Littleton. Come and enjoy a lively and entertaining Christmas program consisting of many secular and sacred favorites. The Smithtonians Handbell Ensemble is a community handbell choir, performing in venues all around the Denver metropolitan area.

Littleton Youth Ballet and Littleton Dance Academy perform “The Nutcracker” at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 3 and 2 p.m. Dec. 4 at The Theater at Colorado Heights University, 3001 S. Federal Blvd., Denver. For tickets, contact Littleton Dance Academy at 303-794-6694. Tickets range from $14 to $21 for advance sales. All tickets are $2 more at the door.

The merry musicians of the Littleton Symphony promise a delightful program of cherished seasonal favorites along with some musical surprises at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at Littleton United Methodist Church, 5894 S. Datura St., Littleton.

Dec. 10

Denver Nuggets Basketball Skills Challenge for boys and girls ages 7-14 will take place Dec. 10 at South Suburban’s Buck Recreation Center. The challenge includes dribbling, passing and shooting. The event is free, and participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate for age verification. The top boy and girl in each age group will advance to a sectional competition and have the opportunity to attend a statewide event at the Pepsi Center. Call 303-798-7515. Programs are free, however, please remember that all vehicles entering the park must purchase a $7 daily pass or display a $70 annual pass. Unless otherwise indicated, programs require reservations. For program information and reservations call the park at 303-973-3959. Holiday Gift Sale will be at 10 a.m. Dec. 10.

Public Hearings. Last week, Arapahoe County hosted two open houses to gather public feedback on proposed draft regulations on oil and gas exploration within Arapahoe County. Starting in late November, Arapahoe County will host two public hearings where the planning commission and the board of county commissioners will review the draft regulations and proposed changes based on the feedback from the community. These meetings are open to the public at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 29 at Lima Plaza, Arapahoe Room, 6954 S. Lima St., Centennial; 9:30 a.m. Dec. 13 at the East Hearing Room, 5334 S. Prince St., Littleton.

Dec. 14

Join Active Minds for The History of Denver from 3-4 p.m. Dec. 14 at RiverPointe, 5225 S. Prince St., Littleton. Come learn the stories of the Mile High City. You will learn how our city was founded and the roles played by James Denver, Robert Speer, Ben Stapleton, and others. Holiday Market. When it comes to last minute holiday shopping, why fight the crowds at the malls when you can shop the Young Entrepreneurs’ Holiday Market at The Crazy Merchant, Inc. Drop by from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 17. The Crazy Merchant, Inc., the impeccable gift, jewelry and beading store will be having a holiday market featuring vendors between the ages of 8-18 years old who will be selling their handmade crafts, baked goods and inventions.

Christmas Bird Count and Holiday Party will be from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 17 at the Audubon Center at Chatfield, 11280 Waterton Road, Littleton. All ages and experience levels welcome.
