Thanks to health-care sector
The Douglas County Business Alliance represents more than 5,500 businesses and over 155,000 employees, allowing us to see firsthand the many challenges COVID-19 threw at our economy. It wasn’t easy as doors were forced to close for months at a time and workers stayed at home, doing their best to stay safe and healthy.
Fortunately, throughout the COVID-19 crisis, Douglas County residents have had a quality health-care system in place. Health-care providers, local hospitals, medical professionals and vaccine distribution experts have been working nonstop to keep our community healthy. Some Douglas County residents battled the worst of the virus, and thanks to our local hospitals, many of them are healthy, with some already back at work and others anxiously awaiting the day office doors open.
As our state and county look forward to a full economic recovery, we want to take a moment here to say thank you to all hospital staff who worked around the clock providing the best of care during a scary year.
With the vaccine rollout picking up steam and restrictions waning, we are looking forward to all businesses reopening, new companies launching, and working-class families once again feeling at ease. We know all of this was made possible due to our accessibility to a strong health-care system. We should all celebrate our local hospitals here in Douglas County, and recognize the value of having a public health system equipped to handle anything thrown its way.
