Students proud of their senior tradition
S.W.A.G. — A four letter acronym for Senior Women Are Great.
Since S.W.A.G. was introduced to Littleton High School many, many
years ago, it has become a well-known tradition. There are two
major events that every girl looks forward to when she becomes a
senior. One would be the completion of the annual Race for the
Cure. The other is a fun joke played on the senior boys.
The senior women, part of S.W.A.G., plan for weeks and weeks to
make the joke perfect. Buying outrageous outfits, sleeping over
with friends, staying up all night, and heading out early. All the
girls are headed to pick up the boys that they have spent the past
four years with: tormenting them, being tormented, flirting,
classes, football games, dates, and dances. Deep down, all the boys
are excited for the day they get to expose themselves as women.
Dressed in dresses (short and long), low cut shirts, short shorts,
heels, make up, the whole get-up.
"S.W.A.G." day is greatly looked forward to by all students, and
sometimes even parents, teachers, and administrators. As a senior
girl from L.H.S. and participant of S.W.A.G., I enjoy the fun
things we get to do, especially the timing of "S.W.A.G." day. We
plan it around prom week.
As we are nearing the last three weeks of our high school
experience, school work is not something that we want to be doing.
So by allowing our tradition, that has been in our school for many
years, to continue to happen year after year and during prom week,
makes it so enjoyable. Though this tradition may not seem fun to
people on the outside of the culture of Littleton High School, it
is something that brings us all together as the graduating senior
class; and a little something to take our minds off school.
You can call us crazy, but we are Littleton High School S.W.A.G.
and darn proud of it!
