I am writing in response to the enlightened letter written by Larry Perkins to Curt Dale in the Nov. 27 edition of the Littleton Independent.

Throughout the election campaign, I have been angry with my local newspaper (I am a 30-year subscriber) over the excessive angry, biased and racist ramblings that you have allowed Mr. Dale to write. He has received excessive space and rarely equal time for an alternative point of view. After his anti-Obama “I must adjust” column, I was ready to cancel my subscription.

Then I read Mr. Perkins letter. He really hit the nail on the head, and I could not have expressed my feelings better. Mr. Perkins was able to reveal Mr. Dale’s shortcomings intelligently and with dignity and offered a positive outlook on our future.

Why don’t you offer Mr. Perkins a column in your newspaper? This paper sadly lacks a political op-ed writer who can see both sides of an issue, speak informatively and intelligently, and whose opinion I would eagerly look forward to reading.

As for Mr. Dale, I look forward to the day that his column just fades away.
