Time for someone new in District 38

Being unemployed, I'm continually amazed at how out of touch our politicians are. For example Joe Rice (my Colorado House District 38 Representative), claims Democrats have created 20,000 new jobs. But according to Bureau of Labor Statistics figures, Colorado has lost over 130,000 jobs since Rice took office in January 2007.

Democrat Rice claims he puts Colorado families first over "special interests." So why has he taken money from seven different lobbyist groups in July alone? (http://tracer.sos.colorado.gov) Who's he really representing, guys like me, or his "special interest" friends?

Then incumbent Rice supports legislation that makes me pay dramatically more in car registration fees. So where does all that hard earned money go? It goes to bridges all right, like the "signature" bridge RTD is working on that's going to cost tens of millions of dollars. And who gets the work? An architectural firm located in Spain. What a slam to the competent architects in Colorado. Thus politicians, like Rice, are making me pay these exorbitant fees, so a Spanish firm can get a cushy job. What an outrage.

I'm sick of this. Incumbents like Rice are burying us. I'm voting for his opponent, Kathleen Conti, in Colorado House District 38.
