“Kaleidoscope,“ an annual juried art exhibit, opened July 15 at
Arapahoe Community College’s Colorado Gallery of the Arts. It will
run through Aug. 5, with gallery hours: 12 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays,
Thursdays, Fridays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. Art faculty
members Trish Sangelo and Susan Goggins served as jurors for the
show, which includes paintings, photographs and mixed media pieces
in many styles, as well as several three-dimensional works.
First Place was awarded to J. Lenorovitz for “Butterfly Days,”
an intricately etched and painted glass vase.
Second Place: “Untitled,“ Karen Zink’s digital collage with
layered images.
Third Place: “Old Tree” by Ralph Nagel, painted in oils on a
wood panel.
The jurors also awarded a number of Honorable Mentions to: Pat
Dall, Darrell Eldridge, Don Simasko, Lisa Calzavara (who currently
has a one woman show at the Littleton Museum), Catherine Belot,
Joyce Pederzolli (2), Mary Cramer Collier, Paul Lindberg, Jum
Furrer and Meghan Manning.
