Candidate profile: Retiree, Army vet to seek seat on city council, Aug. 26

Why are you seeking this office?

My goal in becoming a member of city council is to represent my community with honesty and integrity, and to listen to the interests and address the concerns of everyone in my district, especially our senior citizens and veterans.

What makes you the best person for the job?

I have traveled and worked the world over for the military and large corporations, ending my work career by owning my own small business. I have the experience and the time to help tackle the challenges a growing Littleton faces going forward.

If elected, what would your approach be to growth and development in the city?

The current city council and city staff have already put a considerable amount of time and effort into the Envision process, developing the Comprehensive Plan and Transportation Master Plan (TMP). I will work with other councilmembers, staff, boards and commissions to use this hard work to make necessary updates to our zoning and move forward with solid sensible growth plans.

What can be done to alleviate traffic congestion in the city?

The city already has a plan for addressing some of the worst areas. As a member of city council, I will support going forward with what has already been proposed. We must also move forward using the TMP as a guide for future projects.

What else do you want voters to know about you and your approach to city governance?

I will welcome comments from any and all who think the city council can help with an issue or who see a problem we need to address. As a member of city council I will try to ensure our tax dollars are spent wisely and for the benefit of all Littleton residents and businesses.

Ozga declined an extended audio interview.
