Fair Housing. Arapahoe and Douglas counties have teamed up to have a Fair Housing Forum as a free resource to renters, homebuyers, real estate professionals, homeowners associations, property managers and local governments regarding their rights and responsibilities under the Fair Housing Act. The all day event will be April 29 at the Arapahoe Plaza Building (1690 W. Littleton Blvd., Littleton), with a daytime session from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and an evening session from 5:30-7 p.m. To reserve a seat at the day or evening session, call 303-738-7926.

Columbine Hills Elementary is collecting used books/DVDs/VHS for a book sale April 30. Donations can be dropped off in the lobby of the school, 6005 W. Canyon Ave., Littleton.

“Alice in Wonderland.” Highlands Ranch will stage the family-friendly Disney version of “Alice in Wonderland” at 7 p.m. April 30 and May 1 and at 2 p.m. May 1 at the Pinnacle Dinner Theater at 9136 W. Rose Pruning. Join South Suburban Parks and Recreation, Arapahoe County Master Gardeners, Denver Rose Society members and other gardeners for a day of rose pruning from 8 a.m. to noon May 1 at the War Memorial Rose Garden, 5804 S. Bemis St., in Littleton. Learn about rose planting, pruning, growing and pest control from experienced gardeners. Bring a sharp pair of bypass type pruning shears and gloves for this hands-on training program. Paradise General: Riding the Surge at a Combat Hospital in Iraq is Coloradan Dr. Dave Hnida’s account of a group of brilliant and committed reservist doctors who staffed one of the busiest combat hospitals in Iraq. Haiti: The Road to Recovery. On Jan. 12 the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere was hit by a magnitude 7.0 earthquake with devastating consequences. Sept. 11

Chalk It Up to Education. A Chalk Art Festival is from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Arapahoe Community College Foundation. Professional artists will create works of art with chalk. Food vendors will be available and sponsorship opportunities will be created. The event will be open to students, staff and faculty members of Arapahoe Community College and the general public.
