discover hidden treasure. Find clues, learn to play ethically,
visit the cache in South Platte Park.
July 21 and 28
Chatfield Programs. Come join the fun, learn about nature and
celebrate the summer at Chatfield State Park. Naturalists from
Audubon Society of Greater Denver and Chatfield State Park offer
families a fun and educational experience. Mucking in the Pond is
from 10:30 a.m. to noon July 21. Reptiles and Amphibians is from
10:30 a.m. to noon July 28. For program information and

Full Moon Walk with Bats will be from 8:30-10 p.m. July 25 at
South Platte Park, 3000 W. Carson Drive, Littleton. Visit www.sspr.org. Explore the South Platte
forest with a naturalist as dusk brings out the nocturnal
creatures.

Macintosh Graphics will be from 1-3 p.m. July 29 16 at Buck
Recreation Center, 2004 W. Powers Ave. Visit www.sspr.org. Learn how to use the
AppleWorks graphics program to make greeting cards for all
occasions.
July 30
Family Night Campfires Tales of the Night Sky will be from
8-9:30 p.m. July 30 at South Platte Park, 3000 W. Carson Drive,
Littleton. Visit www.sspr.org.
Delight in a flickering campfire, roasting marshmallows and
naturalist entertainment. Prepare for lawn seating and dress for
outside, though shelter available if inclement weather.

Hoedown at the Buck Center. Put on your Western duds for a
hootin’ good time. We’ll rustle up some tasty barbecue while you
sit back and enjoy some good ol’ storytelling. Join Active Minds
for the story of the American Cowboy at 4 p.m. July 30 at uck
Recreation Center, 2004 W. Powers Ave., Littleton. We will round up
a few good fireside stories and lasso a legendary tale or two as we
seek to understand the culture and contribution of this most
American phenomenon. This event is sponsored by Humana. Cost: $15
($13 residents), includes dinner
Aug. 20 and 21
Reunion. The Littleton High School Class of 1970 is celebrating
its 40th reunion to coincide with Western Welcome Week. There will
be celebrations Aug. 20 at Northwoods Inn and Aug. 21 at Columbine

Sept. 11
Chalk It Up to Education. A Chalk Art Festival is from 9 a.m. to
7 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Arapahoe Community College Foundation.
Professional artists will create works of art with chalk. Food
vendors will be available and sponsorship opportunities will be
created. The event will be open to students, staff and faculty
members of Arapahoe Community College and the general public.
