Colorado bowhunters help needy in southern Colorado

Posted

With the struggling economy, the need to help those less fortunate continues to grow. On Saturday, February 18, 2012 the Colorado Bowhunters Association and Academy Archers, intend to do just that with their Annual Feed the Hungry 3D Archery Shoot. This one day event will begin with a trickle start from 9 am to 11 am.

The Feed the Hungry Shoot is a charitable, non-competitive shoot. Proceeds and donations of food items, including wild game meat, will be given to the Marian Soup Kitchen to feed the homeless and needy in the Colorado Springs area. For every 5 pounds of food donated three raffle tickets will be given to participants for door prizes. Entry fees for adults are $15 and youth are $10. Pay as you go lunch will be available at the shoot.

The Colorado Bowhunters Association has held this event for numerous years and has donated over 1,500 pounds of food and over $1,500 in cash donations to Marian's Soup Kitchen in years past. The event provides a great day of family fun shooting the outdoor 3D targets and plays an important role in helping the community.
