Coffman lets politics overshadow real issues

U.S. Congressman Mike Coffman’s decision to pursue the English-only wedge issue is nothing more than his shifting into high gear for re-election.

Never mind all that noble talk about the deficit and jobs. All that matters to him now is to get re-elected, so he is switching his direction to pander to the Tancredo anti-immigrant core in the 6th District. And let’s not forget his latest non-issue: getting rid of, or reducing, Congressional pensions.

Can our district get beyond this and deal with the true problems of our country? Not until we finally shed the Tancredo skin of bigotry from all his political descendants.
