The South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with
10 other area chambers and the City of Glendale will host the three
major candidates for governor at the Elevate Colorado 2010
Governors’ Forum on Oct. 4.
Former Govs. Bill Owens, Republican, and Richard Lamm, Democrat,
will serve as moderators and interview Democratic Denver Mayor John
Hickenlooper, Republican businessman Dan Maes and former U.S. Rep
Tom Tancredo of the American Constitution Party.
Organizer Bart Sayyah of the South Metro Chamber says the
evening will present a unique format in which each candidate will
be interviewed for about 20 minutes, separately, by the two former
governors.
“Unlike a format where each candidate gets a minute to answer
and they usually serve up political platitudes that mean nothing,
this will be not just topic-driven questioning, but
candidate-driven questioning,” Sayyah said.
The forum will take place from 5-7:30 p.m. at the City of
Glendale Infinity Park Event Center, 4400 E. Kentucky Ave. Tickets
are $50 each. Corporate tables of 10 are available for $650.
Tickets include appetizers and cocktails and are available at
ggchamber.com.
Co-hosts for the event include the chambers of commerce in
Highlands Ranch, Englewood, Lone Tree, Parker, Aurora, Castle Rock,
Castle Pines, Cherry Creek, Glendale and Greenwood Village. Other
co-hosts are the Colorado Group Insurance Association and the
Colorado State Association of Health Underwriters.
