FREDERICK -- Littleton's Luke Suro took second place among 138-pounders at the Golden Eagle Invitational at Frederick High School Jan. 14.
Suro won his first two matches easily -- one by technical fall and one by pinfall. Matthew Fasbender of Monarch took a 3-1 decision in the finals.
James Horton was third at 190 pounds. His only loss in the tournament was in the semifinals. He beat Frederick's Stephan Savage in the consolation semis, then pinned Erie's Kelvin Castaneda in the third-place match.
Disan Tenorio (106 pounds) and David Cruz (132 pounds) placed fourth in their weight classes
Tenorio lost in the quarterfinals, then won three straight consolation round matches to advance to the third-place contest. Monarch's Liam Zyvoloski won the match in overtime.
Cruz lost in the semifinals, then pinned Horizon's Thomas Boyd in the consolation semifinals. Skyline's Tobias Person won the third-place match by pinfall.
The Liosn were 11th in the team standings.
