David Bolle of Play It
Again Sports of Littleton attended the sporting goods franchisor's
annual Summer Meeting and Trade Show July 17-19 at the Minneapolis
Convention Center in Minneapolis, MN. Bolle returned with new
insights that will optimize the shopping experience for local
families looking for quality, in-season used and new sporting goods
"Our focus is on
stocking the sporting goods that our local customers need and
want," said Bolle. "The annual Summer Meeting brings me up to date
on the latest trends, regulations and market conditions both
locally and nationwide so that I can keep our store stocked with
the right items at the right time and at the right price in
preparation for the start of the school sports season."
Play It Again Sports of
Littleton encourages people to "Reuse, Recycle, Replay," and to
underscore the importance of this aspect of the business, this
year's conference featured a workshop that educated franchisees on
how to acquire more quality used sports and fitness equipment in
their community to keep up with their customers demand. "It's a
difficult economy, but families still want to support their
children's interest in sports," explains Bolle. "We must do a
better job of communicating to our customers we need them to bring
us their quality used sports and fitness equipment so we can
satisfy more of our customers' used product needs."
Play It Again Sports of
Littleton lets shoppers sell or trade-in used equipment in good
condition to help offset the cost of outfitting themselves, their
children or even entire teams with the equipment they need for the
current season. All of the
store's prices on quality new or used sports equipment are deeply
discounted off of regular retail.
In addition to sessions
on perennial top market categories like fitness and
baseball/softball, the program included a preview of the lacrosse
market, reflecting the growing popularity of this
sport. Attendees also had
the opportunity to network with vendors, franchise management and
each other at an event held at the Bayside event center in
Excelsior on Lake Minnetonka.
"The Market Preview
sessions really help me plan to meet the current needs of my
customers," said Bolle.
"They help me know what to stock, when to stock it and how to price
it. And, they help me set
a fair price for buying and selling quality used sporting
equipment, too. This type
of knowledge helps ensure that local families and sports
enthusiasts will find the quality, value and selection that they
expect when they come into our store."
