Arvada City Councilmember and Sonsio Chief Executive Officer David Jones was named to the 2021 Titan 100, an annual list of the top 100 chief executive officers and C-level executives in the Colorado metropolitan area. This year’s Titan 100 was published on May 3. It is Jones’ first time being named to the list.
Sonsio is an Arvada-based provider of vehicle protection and warranty programs to the automotive aftermarket, working with companies like Toyota and Goodyear to provide their warranty programs. Jones was nominated by Zach Gibson of Class VI Partners, a banking group Sonsio has worked with for several years, according to Jones.
The Titan 100 is chosen by a panel including Titan 100 Founder Jamie Zawmon from a pool of roughly 200 applicants. The goal of the Titan 100 is to “help connect Titan CEOs and C-level executives throughout the year at a multitude of events and private roundtable discussions,” according to the program’s website.
Jones, who has been an Arvada City Councilmember since 2015, said it was an honor to be named to the Titan 100 and thanked his team at Sonsio for their continued support.
“It’s humbling,” said Jones, “because just to be recognized by your peers and an organization like them, it means a lot. But quite honestly, I couldn’t be the leader I am without the team that I have. I have an amazing team at Sonsio and because of them I shine, and I appreciate them every day.”
Jones added that it is important to him to have Sonsio headquartered in Arvada and allow its employees to serve their community as a means of being good corporate citizens in the area.
“I’ve grown up in Arvada my entire life,” said Jones. “I didn’t live in Arvada in my early years, but this is where we shopped, did business, church. To me, having our business here is about more than having a business here, it’s about being a good corporate citizen and giving back to community.
“That’s why I ran for council,” Jones continued. “Our employees adopted the Van Bibber Trail, we also provided volunteer time off, so we just really want to be a good corporate citizen and allow our employees to give back to the community in a way that makes sense. Today, without the community, businesses can’t thrive.”
Arvada Mayor Marc Williams said that he felt the award points to the caliber of the folks on City Council.
“I think it demonstrates a recognition of David for being a very successful businessman,” said Williams, “and also his business ethic, and a proper balance between his business, civic duty and his family. I think it shows the quality of people that serve on Arvada City Council.“
