Anne (Heckethorn) Hartnett, 87, of Westborough, MA died on April
4, 2009, following an illness.
Born and raised in Colorado, she was the daughter of the late W.
W. and Margaret (Nolan) Heckethorn. During WWII, she met her future
husband, Eugene M. Hartnett, MD, in Littleton, CO, while he was
stationed there for Army training. Following his deployment
overseas, she lived and worked in New York City awaiting his
return. Upon his safe arrival home, they were engaged and were
married on September 15, 1945 in Littleton.
As a homemaker, Anne devoted her life to raising a family and
later rejoined the workforce after the death of her husband in
1973. She found her niche in the publishing industry, where she
worked for 25 years.
In 2003, Anne relocated to Massachusetts to be closer to her
family. She is survived by her daughters, Nicole and Melissa; her
son, Shawn; her sister, Barbara Bouley and numerous nieces and
nephews.
Anne was an avid reader and loved music, movies and British
television. She was a pet lover from early childhood until her
death, and requested that donations be made to Friends of Felines,
