ACC announces employees of the year

Posted

Kim Moultney (faculty), Paul Bosworth (classified) and Jim Provancal (administrator) have been selected as Arapahoe Community College's Employees of the Year for 2011.

Kim Moultney

Moultney, who is now in her eighth year at Arapahoe Community College, teaches reading and writing courses in the College Prep Studies program. Moultney came to ACC after a highly successful 20-year career in the field of Clinical Microbiology.

In addition to serving on ACC’s College Prep Taskforce, Enrollment Management Taskforce and Student Affairs Committee, she represents the College on the Statewide Developmental Education Task Force. Moultney, who was selected as ACC Instructor of the Year in 2008-09, is currently working with fellow ACC colleague, Dr. Josie Mills, to develop a learning community for College Prep students during the upcoming 2012 spring semester.

Moultney has been instrumental in the reinstatement of for-credit English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at ACC in the spring of 2012. Moultney works with College Prep reading and English students in the new “Read, Write and Relax” lab, and she is active in her department’s annual assessment efforts and classroom observations. She has facilitated several educational workshops and roundtable presentations for her colleagues and twice a year shares effective reading strategies with the ACC nursing students. Moultney, who taught in ACC’s Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program during her career in Clinical Microbiology, has also spent time teaching ESL courses to adults in the community.

Originally from Kettering, Ohio, Moultney enjoys reading, gardening and biking, as well as hiking, skiing, backpacking and camping in the mountains. She resides in Littleton with her husband, Jim Gresham.

Paul Bosworth

Bosworth, who is now in his 24th year as an employee at Arapahoe Community College, has served as a custodian for the last 13 years after working as a dishwasher/caterer for Sodexo during his first 11 years at ACC.

A two-time recipient of both the Special Recognition Award (Phi Theta Kappa) and the Classified Special Recognition Award, Paul earned his GED from ACC in 1999, as well.

A native of California, Paul moved Colorado and was adopted at the age of 8. Anyone who is familiar with his enthusiasm and tireless worth ethic would not be surprised to know that Paul delivered both the Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News as an elementary school student in Littleton. Paul, who enjoys Legos, snow and taking advantage of the local mass transit system, has two brothers, Tim (47; Denver) and David (49; Hutchinson, Kan.).

Jim Provancal

Provancal, the Construction Manager at Arapahoe Community College, is now in his 23rd year at ACC. Jim and his crew at the physical plant have a wide range of responsibilities, including everything from painting to internal remodels. Jim also oversees all repair, installation and acquisition of materials for ceilings, doors, tile floors, hand rails, glass replacement, carpeting and roof repairs.

One of Jim’s greatest challenges is scheduling and managing outside contractors who are brought in for various jobs around campus. Jim has been recognized as an outstanding employee by ACC on multiple occasions, having been named Physical Plant Employee of the Year two times (1999, 2000).

His accolades also include two additional nominations for Administrator of the Year (2007-08 and 2008-09) and four “You Make a Difference” certificates. Furthermore, Jim has received “ACC Gem” recognition from the President’s Office on three separate occasions within the past 18 months.

A native of Chicago who moved to Denver in 1981, Jim currently resides in Aurora with his wife of 23 years, Barbara. The couple has one daughter (Natalie; 13) and one son (Nicholas; 10). Jim enjoys hunting and fishing, as well as camping and ski trips with his family.
