Sunny Saturdays are long and lazy at Littleton’s Hudson Gardens.

Families stroll with strollers, ducks snooze in the shade, and old folks on benches watch the world go by.

On May 16, Sunny Keeley and Egbert Maben checked on their beevives in the garden’s apiary. It’s been a long winter, but as flowers blossom, the bees will have their work cut out for them.

Downstream from “Monet’s Place,” fuzzy-headed goslings followed their mamas through the pond.

At Nixon’s Coffee House, along the Mary Carter Greenway trail, bicyclist after bicyclist squeaked to a halt to stop in for iced chais and lattes.

“People are in a good mood,” said barista Sarah Bomers. “It’s just a nice day to be here.”
