My background

I grew up in Rockford, Illinois, a mid-size town on the Illinois-Wisconsin border, about halfway between Chicago and the Mississippi River. My folks met and got married in Denver during World War II and brought my sister and I our here for vacations. I cried each time we left the mountains to go home. In my 20s, I fell in love with a nomadic silversmith from Manitou Springs. He broke my heart, but I fell in love again. That one moved me to Tucson, Arizona, broke my heart and broke the law. But then I met the right man, who, after three decades in the desert, moved me back to Colorado. Yes, this should be a country song.

How did you end up in Littleton?

We have our three dogs to thank for finding Littleton for us. Locating a rental house that accepts not one, but three dogs, was a miracle. We love Littleton for its friendliness, the feel of a real town and all the opportunities for work and for fun.

What do you do for fun?

I volunteer for fun. It’s a great way to meet people and learn about a community. I also write; both fiction and nonfiction. I’ve been known to sing and dance as well. I’m also a member of Rotary Club of Littleton. I first joined Rotary when I was living in a small town outside Tucson. As my career evolved I found new Rotary Clubs, which rapidly connected me with new colleagues and communities. I love the international outreach, and the motto: service above self.
