Breckenridge Brewery hosts 27th annual Hootenanny

The beer was cold, the pavement was hot and the bands were on fire at the 27th annual Breckenridge Brewery Hootenanny in Littleton on July 8. Some gathered in the shade of beer tents and brewery buildings to get out of the sun, but most braved the rays to wiggle to down-home bluegrassy jams by bands like the Jon Stickley Trio, Zolopht, Gypsy Moon, the Sweet Lillies and the Jeff Austin Band. Young and old alike hurled beanbags in games of cornhole. And Woodhill Slow Batch BBQ made their way through three whole smoked hogs. This was the event's third year in the brewery's big campus along the South Platte River on Santa Fe Drive.
