Englewood police pursued suspects after a bank robbery was reported at Vectra Bank in the area of South Broadway and East Belleview Avenue at 4:13 p.m. Dec. 29.
After a vehicle pursuit, officers took two suspects, one male and one female, into custody in the area of U.S. Highway 285 and South Gilpin Street at 4:21 p.m., according to Chad Read, Englewood Police Department spokesman.
The suspects, Nolan Castleberry, 36, and Najah Shumock, 34, were later arrested.
Officers do not have reason to believe there were other suspects involved in the robbery, and there is no known danger in the area, Read said.
U.S. Highway 285, or East Hampden Avenue, was closed down to one open lane on the eastbound side in the area of South Gilpin Street — where police stopped the car the suspects were in — but opened up fully as of about 5:20 p.m. The westbound side of the highway was not restricted.
The Vectra Bank in Englewood sits at 5050 S. Broadway.
