The driver in a late-night car crash in Littleton died by suicide Feb. 6, Littleton Police said.

Police were dispatched to the 500 block of West Caley Avenue at 3:37 a.m. on Feb. 6 to a report of a single car crash, said Littleton Police spokesman Trent Cooper. Upon arrival they found a yellow Toyota FJ crashed into a parked car. The driver and sole occupant, a 33-year-old man who lived in the neighborhood, was found dead from a gunshot wound.

Littleton Police closed the case as a suicide following an investigation and preliminary autopsy results, Cooper said.

A spokesman for the Arapahoe County Coroner said that they may not finalize a report on the man's manner of death for several weeks, and that toxicology results were not yet available.
