About meI moved to Colorado from Florida when I was 12 years old, which was about 10 years ago. I work at Dirt Coffee, which employs people with autism. I’ve worked at Dirt for about three years now, and I was employee of the year last year. I really like serving out the drinks to customers and just spreading my enthusiasm around.Working on goalsDuring the week I do a lot of stuff with Garden, which does day programming and social groups that help develop social skills. I work on things like saying “I’m sorry, I didn’t hear you, what did you say?” and stuff, and I even work on team leadership.A love for musicI like to write songs and play instruments. I play the guitar and the harmonica. I’ve been playing music for a long time and have taken some guitar lessons. I want to be a country musician someday. I’ve got a lot of favorites. I like Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Josh Turner, Boxcar Willie. I really like the older stuff. I also like dancing.Fascination with trainsI’m really obsessed with trains. I got this conductor hat for winning employee of the year. I love the looks of them, I love the sounds of them, what they can do, and I’m interested in the places they go and the things they carry. Because of my love for trains, I actually want to create a train-themed amusement park called Boone Junction.
