Oct. 26 was a gorgeous fall day to be out and about in Littleton, and there was no shortage of outdoor entertainment.
Littleton Museum celebrated a Victorian Halloween on the 1890s farm, and the colors of the vegetation surrounding the lake were stunning. Kids got to play games from the era, such as milk-bottle toss and walking on stilts, and get a look at the new yoke of oxen, Fitz and Ford, that will be trained to help farm the field of the 1860s farm. For information on upcoming events, such as the Victorian Holiday Eve planned for Dec. 8, call 303-795-3950 or go to www.littletongov.org.
Hudson Gardens got in on the act by spotlighting its wildly successful pumpkin season, with many of them bigger than the kids who came to see them during the FestiFall event Oct. 26. The day kicked off with live owls presented by Wild Wings Environmental Education, then families were free to explore the Pumpkin Patch and straw-bale maze, story times, crafts, beekeeping demonstrations, music, food trucks, and more. Pumpkin sales benefit Hudson Gardens’ education scholarship program. For more news about Hudson Gardens, visit www.hudsongardens.org or call 303-797-8565.
